Food safety

In order to ensure high quality and safe food products, we operate in compliance with the International Food Standard (IFS), and in addition to these measures we conduct extremely strict intake checks, production checks and final checks. We do this consistently, ensuring that we can provide our partners with the quality products they have come to expect from us. In performing the tests, we assess both physical attributes (such as the presence of bones) and organoleptic qualities (such as taste, smell and texture).
NorthSeafood operates two production facilities, which allows us to separate the natural products from the coated products during production. This minimises the cross contamination of allergens.

Sustainability

NorthSeafood leads the way in sustainable development, having launched an initiative to use sustainable fishing methods in the North Sea. NorthSeafood has access to this sustainably caught seafood, and we support any trends that promote more environmentally friendly fishing practices, as alternative fishing methods ensure significantly reduced energy consumption. Since good stewardship is a key part of our mission, we operate on the basis of the international TQM system for health & safety and environmental standards. This means that in all our practices and throughout the purchasing, production and sales processes, we consider the impact they have on our environment and on people's working conditions. By continuously monitoring the production process, we keep waste to a minimum.
